Social Responsibility Projects

As a civil society organization, the Turkish Education Association undertakes creative projects on its own and also collaborates with other organizations to conduct joint activities. The Association always stands as a leader in the movement toward scientific development and modernization in Turkey.

Within this scope, the Turkish Education Association;

  • Creates scientific platforms to raise Turkish educational standards to contemporary levels; organizes symposia, meetings and conferences; and supports relevant research projects.

  • Supports projects and activities to improve the education system through the efforts of its Science Council. The "Journal of Education and Science," published by the Science Council since 1977, is a refereed quarterly publication recognized as a valuable source of reference for academic studies.

  • Stands as an authority with its studies and research projects which serve as reference for the studies of various public institutions and sector representatives.

  • Contributes to and drives many social responsibility projects as the leading civil initiative in the field of education.

The Turkish Education Association has always stimulated social interest and awareness with its social responsibility projects:

  • Symposium on New Horizons in Education I: "International Baccalaureat (IB) and EU Education Policies" (October 2003)
  • Research on "Effects of Area and Coefficient System in University Admissions on Industrial and Technical Education" (May 2004)
  • Symposium on New Horizons in Education II - "Right to Education and Children Who Cannot Go to School" (December 2004)
  • "Research on University Admissions System and Report on Solution Alternatives" and campaign called "Life = 180 Minutes?" addressing solutions to problems in university admissions system (April 2005)
  • Aid for 75 thousand children in the poorest districts of Turkey through the campaign called "Aid for 50 Thousand Children" (October 2005)
  •  Acting as implementation partner with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in a project called "From Field to School" under an agreement between the US Ministry of Labor and the Turkish government addressing the prevention of child labor.
  • Offering scholarships to 4 students for graduate degrees in various fields under the scope of a protocol signed with the French Embassy.
  • Publication of the book titled Accession to European Union and Vision in Education 2023 (April 2006)
  • Conference on "Accession to European Union and Education (Part 26)" (May 2006)
  • Report on "University Admissions System in Turkey" and campaign called "Life = 195 Minutes?" (May 2006)
  • Signing the United Nations Global Compact with the objective of contributing to a common development culture in the competitive business world, based on universal principles.
  • Project partnership agreement signed in Alexandria, Egypt, with Anna Lindh Europe-Mediterranean Foundation (ALF), established after the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in 2004 as a continuation of the Barcelona process, in order to strengthen intercultural communication (June 2006)
  • Sending 30 students from 19 schools to the Summer Camp organized in Madrid in order to develop a common understanding among different cultures under the protocol signed with Atman Foundation in Spain (July 2006)
  • "New Horizons in Education III" Symposium - Problems of Pre-School and Primary School Education "A Look Into the Future" (April 2007)
  • A book on "Pre-School and Primary School Education in Turkey: Basic Problems and Recommendations for Solutions" (April 2007)
